Another holiday themed post...

Since I got more responses to my last posting than any previous post...I'll stick with what works. Next up...holiday music. There is plenty of bad Christmas music out there. How many times can Jingle Bells be covered? And whats worse...there are FM stations that have been playing Christmas music 24/7 since mid-November.

But there are some hidden nuggets out there that I really enjoy listening to. James Taylor recently did a great holiday album. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra is also a nice refreshing change from the norm.

So my question is...what Christmas music drives you up the wall? AND...is there any holiday music you really enjoy?

Not many people have heard of them, but Celtic Woman sings the prettiest Christmas carol called "Christmas Pipes". If you are interested, you can watch and hear them perform here:

It's angelical :)

Very nice! Watching that clip reminded me of how much I enjoy Darlene Love's annual holiday stop to Late Night with David Letterman. She has been perfoming "Christmas" (Baby, Please Come Home) for the past 12 years or so.

Here is a clip if you'd like to check it out...

Cool video, Mr. Paulus! Very catchy song! And the fact that she's been doing it every year for the past 12 years or so makes it all extra special :)

First let me say that I LOVE this time of year and I LOVE listening to holiday songs, but the radio stations need to hold off on when they start playing the Christmas tune. They should wait until December 1st. Now for my favorites...I have so many I don't know where to begin. I guess one of my favorites is "Santa Claus is coming to Town" by Bruce Springsteen. Faith Hill has a nice one titled "Where are you Christmas?" and another one I like is "Christmas Time" by the Backstreet Boys. There is one more song that I like a lot, but I get tears in my eyes every time I hear it so I can only listen to it when I am alone.

Check out the GREAT Christmas video on my blog!

The one tune that drives me NUTS after hearing it over and over again on the radio and various elementary concerts is..Feliz Navidad!
Happy Holidays!

There's not really any Christmas song that drives me up the wall, but when the radio repeats the same song in less than ten minutes, it gets really frustrating.

I really like "Mary did you Know", but my all time favorite is "Christmas Eve Sarajevo" by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Any other instrumental versions of that tune are good too.

whoa. WHOA. Class of 2010, relax :)
We completely agree with anonymous up there. 'Mary Did You Know' is very beautiful (especially the instrumental section at the beginning), and "Christmas Eve Sarajevo" is one of our all time favorites too!
The Trans-Siberian Orchestra has a Christmas Album, and there are great songs on there as well. Some of them include 'The Music Box' and 'The Ghost of Christmas Eve', songs which not many people hear because they aren't played on the radio. Ah, well. Other great christmas songs: 'Christmas Shoes', 'Same Old Lang Sang' . . . for some reason, all of these songs are a little bit sad . . .hmmm.
